Alfeyev p. Hilarion

Metropolitan of Volokolamsk Hilarion Alfeyev is the Chairman of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, a member of the Patriarchal Council of Culture, the Board of Directors of the "Russian World" Foundation and a member of the Union of Composers of Russia.

He is the author of more than 700 publications, including monographs in patristic studies, doctrinal theology and church history, as well as translations of patristic works from Greek and Syriac.

He is the composer of a series of musical works including "The Divine Liturgy" and "Vigil" for unaccompanied choir, "Kata Mattheon Pathi" for soloists, choir and orchestra, the "Christmas Oratorio" for soloists, boys' choir, mixed choir and symphony orchestra.
