The two studies of the present, "Monks and Mission in the 4th century" and "Cyril and Methodius", bring to the fore, through two characteristic examples, the ancient intense activity and rich tradition of the Eastern Church in mission. How else can the Christianization of so many peoples in the wider area of the eastern empire be explained?
