Kolios p. Georgios

Fr. Georgios Kolios was born in Athens in 1979.

He graduated from the Classical High School of Thebes and then enrolled in the Theological School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from where he graduated in 2002.

Then he went to Rome, Italy, being a Vatican scholar, studying at the Salesian University in the School of Classics and Christian Letters.

In 2008 he received his Master's Degree in the field of Christian Pedagogy from the Theology Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

In 2012, he was ordained a Deacon, by the then Bishop of Diavelia and now Nea Ionia, Mr. Gabriel, and in 2016, a Priest, by the Most Reverend Archbishop of America, Mr. Dimitrios. In 2016, after his ordination as an Elder, he was appointed Priest-in-Charge at the Holy Church of Saints George and Demetrius in Manhattan, New York and in 2018 he was appointed to the Community of Saint Markella in Wantagh, New York.

Previously, he had worked for five years in the Holy Archdiocese of Athens as well as the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, while during his transfer to the United States of America he served as the sub-secretary of the Holy Diocesan Synod of the Holy Archdiocese of America.

He is married to Elder Ivana, who is originally from Serbia, and they have a son, David.
