Singing, the combination of speech and music, is the most expressive means available to man to express his feelings. With it he externalizes his joy and hopes, his pain and disappointments. Greek folk songs are the mirror of the soul of the people who lived in Greece from the 9th to the beginning of the 19th century. So we will come close to a world, which is so far away from us anymore and we will be able to understand the conditions that caused this form of art to be created.
