One of the Holy Mysteries of our Church is the Eucharist. It is held consistently every Holy Wednesday in our Holy Churches and exceptionally, when it is deemed necessary by the priests of a parish. The sacrament is also performed in the homes of the faithful, when one of the family members falls ill. In the homes of Christians, it is customary to perform the sacrament during Great Lent.

The Eucharistic Service is one of the longest and its length forces many priests to cut it short. This edition, which is based on the handwritten tradition and delivers a more authentic form of the Order, allows the minister to more easily perform the sacrament. In addition, the Sequence becomes even shorter because the prayers are of a smaller extent compared to those of the newer editions, which are much longer due to additions.

This edition was based on the study of the Blessed Professor of Liturgy at the Theological School of the University of Thessaloniki, Ioannou M. Foudoulis, and aspires to contribute to a uniform way of performing the Mystery.
