Metallinos p. Georgios

Protopresbyter Fr. Georgios D. Metallinos (1940-2019) was born in Corfu, where he finished high school.

He received degrees in theology (1958-1962) and philology (1964-1967) at the University of Athens. During the years 1969-1975 he studied theology, philology, philosophy, history and sociology in West Germany (Bonn and Cologne). In 1971 he entered the ranks of the Clergy in Germany. He holds a doctorate in theology in Athens and in philosophy and history in Cologne.

From 1984 he was a professor at the Theological School of the University of Athens. He was dean of the Theological School from 2004 to 2007, when he retired.

He served as a cleric at the University Church of Agios Antipas of the Athens School of Dentistry. Member of many scientific associations and representative of the Church of Greece and Cyprus in conferences.
