Bring Father Ioannis

Father Ioannis Burr comes from a priestly family in England (with German and Russian roots). His grandfather and father were priests, while his brother is a priest at St. Paul's Church on Mount Athos.
He studied Philosophy in London and Greece and Theology in Oxford, supervised by Metropolitan Kallistos Ware of Diocles, as well as Fr. Andreas Louth, distinguished professors of Orthodox theology in Great Britain, but also in the Western world in general. From an early age he began teaching at the St. Vladimir's Institute of Orthodox Theology in New York, where he has been Dean since 2007. His teaching and research interests extend to the fields of Patrology, Dogmatic and Interpretive Theology. He has written many books and studies, while for years he was editor-in-chief of St. Vladimir's Theological Quarterly.
