Dimitris Moschos was born in 1964 in Athens. He studied theology in Athens and theology and Byzantine studies at the Universities of Erlangen and Munich (1988-1992).
In 1994 he was declared Magister Artium of Byzantine Studies at the University of Munich, in 1995 a Doctor of Theology at the University of Athens and in 2007 Lecturer in Church History at the University of Rostock. He served as a theology teacher in Secondary Education (1992-2007). In 2007 he was elected a Lecturer in the Department of Theology of the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens in the subject of General Church History. He is also a visiting professor at the theological faculty of the University of Rostock and a member of the editorial board of the "Synaxis" magazine.
