Studying the Ascetic Words is not an easy task. Their content concerns the mysteries of God, which are reached by those who are claimed by Christ. This new translation gives us the possibility to access a text, which has a triple difficulty: in language, syntax and vocabulary. The translation solves the triple difficulty, with a beautiful text that attracts us to its reading. The two philologists and translators (Giorgos Pinakoulas and Dimitris Koutsougeras) labored to give our language the brilliant work of an ascetic of the almost extinct Church of the East, in which our Fathers recognized themselves.
