Paul, Metropolitan of Sisanius and Siatist

He was born in Chalkida in 1947. After completing his encyclical studies, he entered the Theology Department of the Theological School of the University of Athens, graduating in 1971. In 1973, he was ordained a Deacon by the Metropolitan of Chalkida, Istiaea and Northern Sporades, Nikolaos, and was placed in Mantoudi. In November 1974, he was ordained an elder and received the office of Archimandrite from the Metropolitan of Chalkidos, Istiaia and Northern Sporades Chrysostomos and took charge of the parish of Mantoudi for twenty-five years. In this area and as the High Priestly Representative of Mantoudi, Limni and Agia Anna, he developed a remarkable preaching and pastoral activity.

From the year 1998, he was invited by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece to take over the Secretariat of the Synodal Committee for the Christian Education of Youth, the Synodal Subcommittee for financing the Christian families of Thrace for the acquisition of a third child, the Synodal Subcommittee for the Olympic Games , of the Synodal Subcommittee on Artistic Events and the Special Synodal Committee on Marriage, Family, Child Protection and Demographic Problems.

He was also entrusted with the Directorate of Catechesis, the School of Catechists and the Training School for Catechists of the Apostolic Ministry. For many years he has been a producer of Radio Broadcasts of the Radio Station of the Church of Greece.

He was the president of the "Tassos Georgiadis" Charitable Foundation. For more than thirty years he has been dealing with young people and their problems, as a priest, spiritual, catechist and educator, while at the same time he was invited to speak at parenting schools, priestly and youth conferences in many Holy Metropolises of Greece and Cyprus. On February 28, 2006, he was elected by the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece Metropolitan of the Holy Metropolis of Sisanio and Siatistis, his ordination took place on March 4, 2006, in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Athens.
