Sergis Manolis

Manolis G. Sergis was born in Naxos in 1957. He studied philology at the Philosophical School of the University of Athens (1975-79) and did postgraduate studies at the Pedagogical Department of Elementary Education of the same University. For 23 years he worked as a philologist in public high schools in Western Attica. In September 2003, he was elected assistant professor of folklore at the Democritus University of Thrace, in the Department of Language, Philology and Culture of the Near Eastern Countries. He has participated in many Greek and international conferences, with corresponding original contributions, of folkloric content. He is a member of many scientific societies and cultural clubs.
