However, the relationship between the biblical and the philosophical God is too rich and complex to be subjected to such an absolute dichotomy. However, Pascal's answer in favor of the first and against the second did not close the debate or the dispute. It may have been adopted by a whole stream of thought, but many other thinkers, who were at the same time men of faith, would not accept it and elaborate their work in the strictest terms of the philosopher, to this day.
