The great abbot Amfilochius, the newly appeared miracle-working saint of the Volhynian land, is one of the great patrons of Potchaev's laurel in Western Ukraine, who emerged victorious in his spiritual struggle. His wisdom, humility, his love for his neighbor, his sincere love for God and his miracles always accompanied Elder Amfilochios on his journey to Christ. His entire earthly life was a merciless battle with temptation and the sinful world, with evil, lies and human weaknesses. Battle for purity of body and soul. He endured with patience and dignity. He walked the earthly path with the cross and prayer as his weapons.
