Hart David Bentley

David Bentley Hart (born 1965) is an American Orthodox theologian and philosopher. His research interests range from patrological studies (Saint Gregory of Nyssa, Saint Maximus the Confessor), to medieval philosophical systems and existentialism.

He studied at the University of Maryland (USA) and did postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge (Great Britain), while he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Virginia (USA).

He has taught at several Universities in the United States, while since 2015 he holds the Templeton Chair at the Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Notre Dame.

His book The Atheists' Delusions won the 2011 Michael Ramsey Theology Award.
