Osborne P. Basilios

' Bishop Sergievo Vasilios (Osborne) was born in 1938 in Egypt. He grew up and studied in the USA, where he converted to Orthodoxy. He holds a PhD in Classics from the University of Cincinnati. He was married (he has three children), but his wife Rachel passed away in 1991. In 1993 he was ordained Bishop Sergievo in the Archdiocese of Souroz (Great Britain) and in 2007 he joined the Ecumenical Patriarchate as Bishop of Amphipolis. His books are distinguished by their deep spirituality and their simple but not simplistic thinking.
