Zervas Theodoros

Born in Chicago to Greek parents, immigrants from Greece, Dr. Ted Zervas was interested in the formation of national identity from the early stages of his scientific career. He specializes in comparative and international education, and his works have been published both in the United States and in Europe. Dr. Zervas served as a visiting professor at a university in Mexico.
He is an associate professor of education at North Park University in Chicago. He is a graduate of DePaul University, with an MA in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University and a PhD in Cultural and Educational Policy Studies from Loyola University Chicago. He has also taught in the Chicago Public Schools and Technologico Superiores De Monterrey, Mexico, and is a member of the Illinois Humanities Council and PopScholar.com. Much of his research focuses on the history of education in both Greece and the United States. He has published academic articles on schooling and national identity in Greece, the uses of the Arvanitic language in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the teaching of history both in Greece and in Europe.
