Keno Fr. Michael
Father Michael Keno was born in 1941 in Switzerland. He studied humanities and linguistics in Switzerland and America, while for long periods he lived in Italy, England, Germany and Russia. Before starting his career as a secondary school teacher in his homeland, he toured across Arabia as the head of a humanitarian mission in North Yemen, at a time when civil war was raging there.
After various wanderings around the question of image and iconography (since his youth), he converted to Orthodoxy and wrote several books, which have been translated into many languages. His reflection on the sanctity of the image is the fruit of a lifetime's work.
In 2003 he was ordained a priest of the Ecumenical Throne and today he serves in a small French-speaking parish in Switzerland.
