"The Elder used to tell us that the feeling of love for one's neighbor is revealed to whoever prays truly; and more specifically, "when Grace acts in the soul of the one who prayed, then he is flooded with the love of God, so that he can no longer endure what feels. Next, this love is directed towards the world and man, whom he loves so much that he wants to take upon himself all human pain and misery so that others may be freed; he sympathizes with every sorrow and difficulty, even for these the horses animals, so that he cries when he thinks that they suffer! These are characteristics of love, which prayer evokes and activates. That is why even those who have interrupted their prayer do not stop praying for the world. Even the prolongation of his life belongs to them - however paradoxical and daring it may seem - and know that if they disappear, then the end of this world will come."
