The life of Saint Simeon is very beautiful and instructive, with many miraculous cures as well as wonderful proactive actions that caused the admiration of the pilgrims and led them on the way to the Church. He had become well known as a spiritual man, and crowds of believers flocked to him to confess and receive his wish. Very justly the Church classified him in the dance of the saints and determined that his memory be celebrated on the 5th of January, the day on which the Blessed One surrendered his spirit into the hands of His beloved Lord.
The path and spiritual mission of Saint Simeon had been prophesied much earlier by the great saint of the Russian land, John of Kronstand, who had said from the beginning of the twentieth century that later "a great Elder will be found in the monastery of the caves of Pskov, the hieromonk Simeon and this monastery will not be closed". And the prophecy of the great saint was fully verified. (From the presentation on the back cover of the book)
