The dramatic story of a Jewish girl in the Netherlands of 1939-1945. Her family is sent to concentration camps, while she experiences a thrilling and miraculous escape from the same fate. A prey that is always one step ahead of her Nazi pursuers, hosted secretly by various Dutch families until the end of the war. In her hiding place she comes into contact with a Bible, in the pages of which she meets a "compatriot", who was completely unknown to her: she discovers Jesus and realizes that she has been chosen to live in more ways than one.
