B' TO THE CORINTHIANS
INTERPRETATIVE APPROACHES
IN THE LETTER OF THE APOSTLE PAUL
Theological workshop
with the theologian Dimitris Mavropoulos
in 12 lessons

The Second Epistle to the Corinthians was written by the apostle Paul one year after the First, in 56 AD, from Macedonia, probably from Philippi, and was sent to the Corinthians with his disciple Titus, preparing his visit to
Corinth. He had been informed that Judaizing Christians had arrived at the church of Corinth, who demanded observance of the Mosaic law and mainly questioned Paul's apostolic quality.

Wanting to defend himself for the sake of the gospel, he writes this letter, which has a personal and emotional character, invoking his apocalyptic experiences as one called by God for his apostolic work. The letter spans thirteen chapters (with 4,520 words) and is smaller in length by a third than A' (which spans sixteen chapters with 8,950 words).

Regarding the content, we could divide the letter into three parts:

a) Mr. 1-7, Paul's apology to accusations against him, evaluation of his apostolic work, character of his relations with the believers of Corinth,

b) ch. 8-9, references to the logic (fundraiser) for the church of
of Jerusalem,

c) ch. 10-13, confrontation with the false apostles, appeal to apocalyptic experiences.
