I have often wondered how it is that silence is so much deeper when we share it with others? Why is our prayer so much more concentrated, so much more intense and yet completely simple, when we recite it together with others in a spirit of silent worship, before the God of boundless love and infinite mercy? How it happens that even in silence our prayer embraces the other in a unique way, so that, in an indescribable harmony, we bond for each other, give thanks for each other and offer each other to God, whose presence and love we feel almost physically; the love of Him who is Emmanuel, that is, "God with us"?
The "ecumenical problem" can be completely solved where people, who love Christ and offer Him their unbroken devotion, gather together in silence to worship Him and listen to His voice together...
